Elcom Group, a subsidiary of SUN, offers a range of Indian-developed products, technology platforms, manufacturing capabilities, testing, and services in the field of specialised electronics. Elcom focuses on aerospace, communications, and electronics, particularly in avionics, tactical communications, and homeland security. Equipped with AS9100C certification, industrial licenses to manufacture defence electronics equipment and a government recognised R&D laboratory, Elcom is developing and manufacturing electronics solutions for a broad range of global customers.
Significant Minority Investments: Example – Sandbox AQ
SUN Group completed a significant investment into Sandbox AQ. Sandbox AQ, led by Jack Hidary and Eric Schmidt, was created at Alphabet in 2017 and was spun off in 2021 as an independent company. SandboxAQ is an enterprise SaaS company combining AI + Quantum tech to solve hard problems impacting society. Sandbox intends to become the standard software solution leveraging quantum computing technology to transform several sectors using core domain tools including: Quantum Sensing; Security, Encryption & Communication; Simulation and Optimization.
