Nand Khemka, Chairman
Nand Khemka is the Chairman of SUN Group and has led the global expansion of the business from its inception. He was also honoured by the Government of Iceland with their highest civilian honour, the Knight’s Order of the Falcon.
Nand Khemka has been on the executive committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Nand Khemka received an MBA and an MA from Columbia University. He has been on the Board of Overseers of Columbia Business School for over 30 years.
Shiv Khemka, Vice Chairman
Shiv is leading the group’s activities in Advanced Technology Investments in areas including Solid-State Batteries, Quantum, Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies.
Shiv helped establish the Group’s activities in Latin America from 1985-1990, before moving to Central Asia in 1990 to oversee the family’s activities in the Former Soviet Union. Shiv was operationally responsible for SUN’s foray into the beer and confectionery businesses and also for investments in Oil and Gas, Mining and Communications Electronics.
He was selected as a Global Leader for Tomorrow (now YGL), by the World Economic Forum in Davos. He was also awarded the Dr. Jean Mayer Global Citizenship Award by Tufts University. He has served on the Board of Overseers of the Wharton School and is currently on the board of the Lauder Institute and the Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI) at the University of Pennsylvania. He also serves on the Board of Governors of Junior Achievement Worldwide, is a Trustee of the Foundation Leadership Council at United World College (South East Asia), and is a member of the Young Presidents Organisation’s Inter-Continental (YPO-IC) chapter. Shiv is currently a founding member of V20, a global community of values experts and practitioners that engage with G20, and is the chairman of Aikido Aikikai Foundation of India.
Shiv studied at Eton College, earned a BA in economics from Brown, an MBA/MA with distinction from the Wharton School of Business and the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. He speaks seven languages, including Russian and Portuguese.
Uday Khemka, Vice Chairman
Uday has been building and leading the business activities of the Khemka family and the SUN Group, with a particular current focus on New Energy, Renewables, Electric Mobility and Asset Management.
Prior to SUN, Uday Khemka worked with Credit Suisse First Boston and Morgan Stanley in London and New York and then established and led Morgan Stanley’s investment banking operation in India. Uday has been deeply involved in the Group’s principal investments in the food and beverage, oil and gas, mining, and real estate sectors and is a Director of SUN Gold. He has also led SUN’s investment management activities and the creation of focused fund franchises in SUN’s core markets, including joint ventures with Apollo Real Estate Advisors (AREA), Sequoia Capital, and others.
Uday is on the Board of Governors of the Indian School Of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad, the Board of The Synergos Institute in New York and has been elected a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Educated at Eton College, he received his undergraduate and Masters degrees at Cambridge University and received an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School (Baker Scholar).
